The bracket is a device used in orthodontics that aligns and straightens the teeth, helping to reposition them in terms of the bite (the way the upper and lower teeth join), but also to improve dental health.
They are often needed to correct small bites, but also open, deep, crossed bites, malocclusions, chipped teeth and other defects of the teeth and jaw; It falls into two broad categories, namely cosmetic and structural, being often used in association with other devices designed to enlarge the palate / jaw and support the modeling of the teeth / jaw.
The brackets consist of metal wires (made of various materials) that cover the teeth, being tightly tied and acting in the direction of the teeth moving in the desired position.
In principle, anyone can wear braces, but keep in mind that this type can give different results from one person to another and only the orthodontist is able to determine which is more suitable for your needs / problems. From the point of view of age, there is no prohibition, but there are also known periods of initiation of treatment.
